Date Night

Jon & I had a date night last weekend! We went furniture shopping & dined at New South Diner...my new fave restaurant! It reminded me of the Louisville Original restaurants from home. I LOVE unique, gourmet food. So here's what I ordered:

Goat Cheese & Pear Salad
Spinach & Arugula, Candied Pecans,
Apple Butter, Dried Cranberries,
Goat Cheese, Blackberry Vinaigrette
Calico Scallops
Parsnip Puree, Wild Mushrooms,
Garlic Spinach, Hazelnut Brown Butter

It was one of those dinners I ate slower than usual in order to savor each bite. I can't wait to go back for more!

Kitchen Makeover

We upgraded our kitchen! We (well, the people we hired) made a lot of changes:
Bianco Romano granite counter tops with under mount sink. I wanted our granite to be the star. I notice a new color or see a new sparkle in it everyday!
Cabinets were painted in Linen White.
Walls were painted White Heron, a lighter shade of the cabinets.
Backsplash is simply 3x6 subway tile in Snow White from Home Depot.
New hardware & faucet from Lowes.
I am thrilled with the way my kitchen came together! It was fun picking out everything. It was not fun keeping the kids out of the kitchen while the improvements were taking place;)

20 Weeks & Counting

This is what I look like 20 1/2 wks pregnant with twins. My belly is growing rapidly!! To my sweet, well-intentioned friends who tell me I hardly look pregnant...SERIOUSLY?!!!

Girls Night Out

Maw Maw & Paw Paw drove up for a visit a couple of weekends ago. Aunt Shannon (who recently moved to Greensboro) had a wonderful idea to see Beauty & the Beast. It was a Girls Night Out! Ansley wore her Belle dress. Both girls loved it! In fact, Madelyn asked me the other day when her & I were going to have another GNO. I asked her what we would do. She said we'd eat dinner at McDonald's then buy her a toy at a toy store!

Sleepy Head

I didn't realize how many funny pictures I had of Nolan sleeping until I uploaded my photos onto the computer! Check them out...

Rude Reaction

I guess not everyone is as thrilled as me that I'm expecting twins. I do get a lot of mixed reactions to my oh-so-wonderful news. I certainly appreciate the genuine congratulations & secretly chuckle at the others who do not see my news as, well, great news...

I was shopping at Motherhood Maternity yesterday. Another shopper was there shopping for her pregnant daughter. The fact that I'm pregnant with twins came up in conversation. As the lady was checking out, she looked at me, then looked at my 3 children who were standing next to me. She asked if all 3 were mine. Then in the most disapproving tone said, "Good Lord."

I just stood there shocked. Now its just a funny story to share.

Christmas 2010

Jon, me, & the kids headed to Louisville a week before Christmas. Jon had a week off which was great. Time was spent with family & friends who we haven't seen in a while. We celebrated with my Dad, my brother's family, & my Aunt Mary Jo Christmas Eve morning. Christmas Eve evening, we celebrated with Jon's family. The kids were happy that Santa found us in Louisville. Christmas day was spent bumming around, napping, & playing with new toys. Here are a few pics of our Christmas holiday. Unfortunately, I don't have many of the Day side of the family b/c Ordie is the family photographer.
