Embarrassing Moments

A few funny stories to share:

I was sitting on the edge of the pool, keeping an eye on Madelyn & Ansley when another mom, her little girl, & the little girl's grandma sat down next to me. The mom asked how far along I was b/c she was pregnant too. I told her about 34 weeks. The grandma abruptly says, "You look to big to be 34 weeks pregnant, I thought you were due any day!" The daughter kept saying she thought I was the right size. The grandma even questioned my knowledge of how far along I was! They continued to debate my belly size, or how it should be, while I just sat there saying nothing.

The girls & I went to the deep end to swim. There was an older lady helping a little boy swim too. The lady had a large growth on the side of her nose. Not massive but definitely noticeable. Every time they would pass, my girls would say hello...it was all good. The third time the lady swam by, Madelyn asked her what that bump was on her nose! The nice lady just shrugged. Madelyn took it as she didn't hear her question, so she asked her again, only louder. The nice lady just shrugged again as she smiled at me. Madelyn then directed her question at me, in hearing distance of the poor lady. They did not swim past us again.

A few weeks ago, Madelyn was swimming in the big pool. A very, very large man walked passed Madelyn as he exited the pool. Madelyn shouts to me across the pool, "Mama, look at his big nipples!"

Happy Father's Day

The girls painted Jon picture frames at the library yesterday. Jon had to work from 7-1. I took the girls to the pool while Jon was at work. The girls were so excited to give Daddy their gift. I made Jon his favorite Eclair cake. Unfortunately it turned out soupy b/c I used skim milk! Jon's parents & grandmother drove up to eat dinner with us at Geoff & Brandi's house. The girls had fun playing with their cousins & seeing Maw Maw, Paw Paw, & Mama Dee. Brandi fixed a yummy dinner for everyone. Happy Father's Day Jon. Madelyn & Ansley are the luckiest girls in the world to have you as their dad!!

Our Rental House

The owners left us their hammock so we can relax outside on the big front porch. I also love having an attached garage!

This is where we watch movies & read books. We don't have cable so we've been watching a lot less TV, which I think has been a positive thing.

We converted the dining room into a playroom. Although, isn't every room a play room?

Here's the kitchen. Spacious pantry: Check. Laundry room: Check.

Ansley & new baby will share a room. We started "big bed bootcamp" last week after she crawled out of her crib by herself. I discovered a trick to get her to stay in her bed: I lay her favorite baby doll next to her & tell her she has to be quiet b/c baby is asleep. Then I give Ansley & baby a paci!

Madelyn loves her even bigger bed. The lion in the background is Aslan...he protects her during the night!

Behold the master bedroom! I took this pic from the angle of the bed that nobody sees (until now)! That's why the blankets are uneven & you can see Jon's laptop under the bed!

We also have an office on the 1st floor. I decided to spare you of a photo b/c its a wreck! This is where we keep the computer & Jon' treadmill.

Just the Girls & I

Saturday morning the girls & I went to the Carmel Farmer's Market. I bought some yummy apples, strawberries, red leaf lettuce, & pop corn for the girls to snack on. The pop corn was popped right before our eyes in a huge iron kettle. It was the best pop corn I've ever had. It was sweet & lightly salted. There were no kernels. I guess when the corn is popped at that high of heat, every kernel is going to get popped! We came home & went to the pool for a few hours until Ansley gave us her cue that she was ready for nap. After nap & a short walk, it started to rain. We got out umbrellas & the girls played out front for a short while. Then the girls took an extra long bath to pass the evening by. Before we knew it, Jon was home to tickle their bellies & deplete any last bit of energy they could possibly have!

Around Town

Mini photo shoot in our backyard. No, the girls aren't always this lovey to each other...but it sure it nice when they are!!

We hit up the Children's Museum on a rainy day last week. Madelyn's favorite part is the dinosaur exhibit.

Madelyn digging for dinosaur bones...another talked about favorite in our house. Ansley wasn't crazy about wearing the required goggles nor wanted to venture up the stairs to help dig!

Our 1st playdate with some neighbors at this amazing park called Coxhill Gardens.

Ansley so proud for climbing the hill to get on top of the tunnel.

Madelyn's favorite ride at the Westfield Festival last night. Ansley was too short to ride anything but wouldn't have been up for it anyway!

Ansley struts around the house in these play shoes all the time. We call them the princess shoes. We bought these last week b/c the girls were fighting over the other pair we have. We make a big deal about the girls when they dress up by telling them how beautiful they look!

We went to a splash park today. This is about as close to the water Ansley would go!

Madelyn, on the other hand, was right in the middle of things!

We had a nice day today with Jon being off work. He averages about 1 day off per week right now. I'm trying to stay as busy as possible. I've met some very nice families here but still adjusting to the area & trying to figure out a new routine for us.
