Go Cards!

U of L is playing tonight. I have to work the gym playroom from 5-7. I'll be watching the game as soon as I get home! My last day at the gym is Sunday. I'm looking forward to more family sit down dinners, playing outside in the evenings, & just being around more at bed time for the girls. It also means that I have to begin packing & organizing for our move...no excuses now!! The gym playroom gave the girls a chance to socialize with other kids since they're not in preschool (not to mention the adult conversation it gave me). Jon has been great. He gives the girls a bath & puts them to bed when I'm working. We have had a low key day today. Jon has been digitizing our home videos & putting them on DVD. He popped one in this morning & I couldn't move away from the tv! The video we watched was less than a year old but I had already forgotten some of the funny things the girls did at that age. Thank God for video cameras! Thank God for Jon for taking the time to do this & having a genuine interest in keeping our family memories alive! After we finally got moving, we went to visit Madelyn & Ansley's Great-Grandmother, Mama Dee.
Good luck Cards!!

Match Day!

Jon & I have been waiting for this day for 4 years now! Today was the day we found out where Jon got matched for residency. The last few months have been difficult b/c we knew we were moving but just didn't know where. We are moving to Indianapolis in May for 1 year where Jon will do his transitional year (prelim year of general medicine) at St. Vincent's Hospital in Carmel. This should be a fun year b/c Jon's brother Geoff & family live there. Madelyn & Ansley are going to LOVE being close to their cousins! We plan on renting a house or town home & taking advantage all the fun stuff Indy has to offer. In Spring 2010 we're moving to Winston-Salem, NC for 4 or 5 years where Jon will do his radiology residency at Wake Forest University. Wake Forest was Jon's 1st pick...I am so proud of him for getting matched there! I didn't go with Jon on this particular interview so I only know what others & the internet have said about the city. My mom used to summer there as a kid, apparently I have distant relatives there. Jon says it was one of the more family oriented programs he interviewed at (most of the residents & doctors have kids, there's a strong spouse group, & the city in general caters to families). This will be an adventure for our family indeed. I am looking forward to the life we will build there together!

Before leaving for the ceremony...nervous, anxious, & excited.

Everyone opened their envelope at the same time...oh the anticipation!

Yay Jon!

Louisiana Trip

We left for Haughton, LA early Thurs morning to visit my mom & Jeff. The girls did GREAT on the drive there. It was so good to see my mom since we hadn't seen each other since Christmas. It was rainy during our visit. Jon & the girls swam in the indoor pool at our hotel. We went to the Sci-Port Science Center on Friday, then ate the best red beans & rice with sausage ever, made by chef Jeff. Saturday we went to Marty & Mary's house (good friends of my mom & Jeff's). Madelyn & Ansley had so much fun playing with Seth & Elizabeth while Jon had fun playing video games with Jacob! Marty served us one gourmet dish after another...marinated crab legs, cheese stuffed jalapenos with roasted red pepper sauce, eclairs, char-broiled oysters, T-Bone steaks, & banana fosters for dessert...I've never eaten so well in all my life! Haughton is a small town but there's great shopping, restaurants, & activities just minutes away. The weather is warm & sunny most days of the year. I can't forget to mention Beau & Tigger, my mom's dog & cat. Madelyn misses them almost as much as she does Grandma!

What Lovely Weather We're Having

After gymnastics, our weekly Sam's run, & nap, the girls played outside in the back yard. The weather over the past few days has been beautiful. I know its going to get cooler over the next few days but its comforting to know that Spring is just around the corner, leaving the cold days behind us. We ended up having a mini photo shoot of the girls since they were in good spirits. On a side note, Madelyn discovered a paci that was apparently hidden somewhere in her room. She wasn't to happy when we took it away from her. We explained that the Paci Fairie would have to come get that one & give it to a new baby like her other paci's. I distracted her with a Fruit Roll-up & that was the end of that!

Sleepy Lunch

Ansley fell asleep during lunch time! She woke up at 6:50 & played around the house this morning, then I took her to Kroger with me which apparently was just enough activity to completely tire her out!

Madelyn has been sick today. She has a stomach bug & threw up a few times this morning. She took a long nap & woke up with an appetite. Hopefully she will keep her food down & feel better this afternoon. I can't wait to get outside in this beautiful weather. I think fresh air will do Madelyn some good...I know I could use some after this long cold winter!

Its a Boy!

Jon & I were so excited this morning at our ultrasound appointment when we found out we are expecting a boy! We have no names picked out so that will be our first order of business. We also need to stock up with boy clothes b/c I think we may have one unisex sleeper, everything else is 100% girl (this will be lots of fun b/c I love picking out clothes). We'll have to get new bedding for the crib b/c ours is white with pink roses! Its going to be lots of fun. I must admit, boys have seemed so foreign to me (for lack of a better word) since Madelyn & Ansley have come along...its been girl everything over the past 3 1/2 years. Jon never let on how much he wanted this baby to be a boy. He (& I) were so excited when the ultrasound tech said "boy". Can't wait to meet our little man!! By the way, the ultrasound photo is Jr's profile. His head is to the left of the picture. You can make out his forehead, then eye, nose, mouth, & chin, then to the right is his chest & belly. His hand is resting on his forehead. He's already a cutie!!

Gymnastics Photos

Madelyn is still taking gymnastics at All About Kids once a week. She is in the Panda class which is made up of all 3 year olds. She still loves it & really likes Coach Denise. Ansley has been playing in the Fun Zone while Madelyn is in class. Thought I'd post Madelyn's first official gymnastics photos of her & her class. She looks so serious in her picture...so funny:)
